Kevin Ganotisi★★★☆☆My wife and I had dinner on the patio on July 3. We started with the calamari, which was delicious. It arrived fresh, crispy, and was easily the highlight of the meal. The service was friendly throughout the evening, and my wife really enjoyed her pasta dish. I ordered the ribeye because I wasn’t in the mood for pasta. Unfortunately, it was the biggest disappointment of the meal. I ordered it medium rare, but it came out closer to medium or medium well. It also had a strong burnt grill flavor, almost as if the grill hadn’t been cleaned before the steak was cooked. My favorite part of the steak, the rib cap, was also burnt. The vegetables were fresh, but the potatoes looked and tasted like they had been fried a second time and weren’t freshly prepared. At the end of the meal, we waited quite a while for our check. The staff continued helping other tables but never stopped by ours. Eventually, we got up and went inside to pay. Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere, the calamari, and my wife’s pasta, so we’ll likely be back. Next time, though, I’ll be skipping the steak.

Wife loved the tortellini prosciutto—homemade Italian made her want to eat Italian food more often. Tiramisu was the best we ever tasted and we joked about going back the next night just for dessert.

This is a hometown favorite, so please call in advance for reservations. Besides great appetizers, small plates, and dinner, Maurizio’s also caters. It’s always a pleasure to see Maurizio, but if he’s not there, his attentive staff will take care of all your needs.
