Today, my wife calls me to tell me she had something special for dinner. That’s code to stop at Costco for a hotdog before I get home. But no, I chose to go home and my gut feeling told me don’t be an idiot you fool. I decided to stop at Ricky’s Grill BBQ and Catering in Morgan Hill on Tennant. I have driven by it many times, but have never stopped because I’ve been historically hesitant about food trucks. Ricky's has completely changed my perspective. I am glad I stopped, not because my wife made a tuna pasta dish, but because the food is good. I ordered two carne asada tacos, and they were outstanding. The corn tortillas tasted handmade, and the asada was fresh, hot, and seasoned perfectly. It was way better than the tuna pasta waiting for me. The portions were also generous; they were larger than your average street tacos, making them very filling. The outdoor dining area is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of bench seating and easy parking. I even noticed the staff proactively cleaning the condiment station between customers. I’m already looking forward to returning to taste the consistency in the tacos and try the tri-tip sandwich. If you're in Morgan Hill, this spot is definitely worth the visit. July 16 This week I made my third visit to Ricky’s Grill BBQ & Catering in Morgan Hill on Tennant, and I finally tried the tri‑tip sandwich I’d been eyeing. The slow‑smoked tri‑tip does not disappoint. A lot of places serve tri‑tip tender but still bleeding. Ricky’s gets it right — juicy, flavorful, fully cooked, and perfectly smoked without drying out or turning tough. It is just a great sandwich all around. As you can see from the pictures, the portion size is also satisfying. As a guy who is a healthy meat eater, their Tri-tip sandwich hit the spot and I have to give credit where it’s due: the tacos are still absolutely and consistently delicious. Every visit, they deliver with flavor. With plenty of outdoor seating, easy free parking, and genuinely good food, Ricky’s Grill BBQ & Catering continues to be a standout in Morgan Hill. If you’re anywhere nearby or in the area, go treat yourself.

This place is good. Love all the outdoor seating. The chicken was moist with a smoky flavor. To me its a cross between pollo asado and bbq chicken. Tri tip needed a bit more flavor. Beans,coleslaw and potato salad were good. I love that its not store bought and they had good flavoring. Quesabirrias were nice and crispy the way I like um. I will definitely come back when coming to Morgan Hill/Gilroy area.

Ordered miso salmon and it was good. Could have been better. The veggies were over steam. Ordered the seared tuna salad. Tuna were ok but the lettuce were mixed with old lettuce.
