A True Culinary Treasure on the West Coast! Yesterday night, I had the opportunity to eat some Turkish food in Mateo Pizza Restaurant, and frankly, the experience far exceeded my expectations. Their lahmacun and sujuk (sucuklu) pide were, in a word, phenomenal. As someone who has been searching for these authentic flavors for years, I can confidently say that this is the best Turkish style lahmacun and pide I have ever had on the West Coast. From the perfect consistency of the dough to the freshness of the ingredients, everything was so delicious and tasty that I felt as if I were back in Turkey at my favorite local restaurant. The quality of the food is truly commendable. I sincerely wish that this level of craft and flavor could be spread across the rest of the United States! Mateo Pizza Restaurant absolutely deserves recognition for the authentic and high quality standards they maintain. I would love to see this quality of lahmacun and pide available in more places. From now on, whenever I visit San Francisco, this place will undoubtedly be my first stop. I look forward to coming back regularly and savoring these flavors again. I must say, this pizza spot is an absolute jewel of an establishment. The fare and the service are simply exquisite. It honestly felt less like dining out and far more like being cordially invited into a dear friend's parlor for a sumptuous evening feast. The hospitality is, quite frankly, unmatched! We partook in the Ottoman and a classic pepperoni pizza, and both are absolute prerequisites for a proper visit. Though, if you are restraining yourself to but a single pie, I implore you: secure the Ottoman! I must also insist you try the tea, which was wonderfully refreshing, and we concluded our evening with the rice pudding. Heavens above, if I must say, the pudding was a truly sublime and delectable affair. Our server, Elias, whom I strongly suspect is the proprietor of this fine establishment, tended to us with the utmost grace, checking in to ensure our experience was nothing short of perfection. A veritable 10 out of 10 experience. This is not merely a recommendation, darling, it is a mandate. You simply must try this location!

A neighborhood pizza place that clearly puts a lot of care into what they make. ❤️ The ingredients’ quality are noticeably good—you can really taste the difference. The Turkish-style pizzas are excellent. I’d easily give them a 10/10. The flavors are balanced, fresh, and full of character. Also, don’t skip the dessert station. Some of the desserts are baked by the owner’s mom, delicious. Always worth a look.
