LG Uptown Cafe is hands-down one of my longtime favorite breakfast spots in Los Gatos. I’ve been coming here for years and I’m such a creature of habit because the food is consistently that good. The chicken apple sausage Benedict is easily one of the best Benedict dishes I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked eggs, rich hollandaise, flavorful sausage, and everything always comes out spot on. Their in-house cinnamon roll is also unreal. It’s enormous and comes with this incredible cinnamon butter that honestly makes it unforgettable. Their coffee program is equally impressive. The lattes are always perfectly made and I’ve never had to second guess ordering any espresso drink here. They also have really fresh juices and a huge menu with something for everyone. Beyond the food, the staff are wonderful. I’ve come to know many of them over the years and the place just has that comforting local diner energy that keeps people coming back. If you’re local, you probably already know about Uptown. If not, you seriously need to try it.

On June 7, 2026, I had brunch here around 11:30 a.m. I was sitting alone at the bar. 1. Unauthorized card processing My card was charged without allowing me to sign the receipt myself. The same server who treated me in a hostile and discriminatory way signed on my behalf without my permission. I had to ask three times before I was finally given a receipt. 2. Poor and hostile service toward an Asian female customer The service felt hostile and discriminatory. I asked the lady who took my order for milk and a coffee refill, but she simply stood there and ignored me. No service. I do not know where her hostility toward me came from whether it was because I was a woman dining alone, because I am Asian, or both, but it was very uncomfortable and upsetting. This is the first time I have ever written this kind of Google review. I originally did not want to complain, even though I felt I was being treated differently the entire time. But when my card was charged without my signature and without a receipt being provided, I could not tolerate it anymore. I have lived in Los Gatos for a long time, and this was the first time I experienced such unexplained hostility and discrimination, even after paying an 18% tip. The waffle was good, but the experience was extremely upsetting. I won’t be back. If you think Asian women will simply tolerate this kind of treatment, you are wrong. If I find that my credit card was charged improperly or without my authorization, I will not hesitate to report it to 911.
