It can be hit or miss. Mostly miss for a while. Insects in rice, rotten chapatis, rotten mangoes. $5 a guava. They aren’t hygienic one either so why such cost?

I am a regular at this store as I like it for some aspects (inspite of the cramped space, disorganized aisles and sometimes expired items) but this review is mainly based on today’s experience with a new young cashier. At first this cashier asked me to bag the items myself as she said she cannot lift heavy items due to arm/ shoulder pain . It looked off as other cashiers have always bagged the items( not just this store but at any grocery store). I was still fine with it and bagged myself , empathizing with the girl. When I returned home and checked the bill( my fault to have trusted the store and not checking the bill at the store itself) , I noticed that she had sneakily added a 2.5$ worth zee foods mango pop to my bill (which I didn’t buy)! It’s not about losing the 2.5$ but it’s about the integrity! Beware of this girl at the cash counter next time - she is a young lady with looks that make me guess her age between 19-23.

Good source for South Indian groceries. Prices looked moderate. Many veggies found to be fresh, though a few, not so much. Different types of bananas were there; not usually found in other Indian/American shops. Paper plantain leaves(vazhayila) are available, especially suited for Onam celebration. Shop personnel were friendly, and overall it was a good experience.
