Went to this interesting CoCo's location last week when I was in the area after an appointment. This bubble tea store is within a "food hall" with 3 other stores (Chung Chun's Rice Dog, Osmow's, Pastable). Thought I walked past it at some point. It was the closest location to where I wanted to head off next (subway and somewhere else), even though there was quite a bit of walking to do, plus some streetcar riding. At the time, it wasn't busy at all. Just a small group of people inside (I assume friends deciding what to get). I ordered the odd, yet intriguing special: Matcha Cake Cream Swirl (Large, 50% sugar, $7.68). By the way, the floor is hella sticky. You can hear the "stock" with each step you take. You can feel the resistance of the floor not wanting to let your shoes/feet leave the ground. But that's the building experience, not the drink. The uniquely named drink (which was very hard to say -- quite the mouthful) tasted like a good sweetness that filled my hungry stomach. That 50% sugar was the lowest amount and was highly needed. If the sugar was any higher, I would've been killed via tastebud sugar overload. The matcha was very matcha and mixed well with the cookie/cake topping that was sitting right on top of the drink. Tasted like Oreos. It's cold, almost frozen dessert drink. Slush/smoothie like. The cake/cookie crumbs don't mix well when you're halfway downing the drink (leaves clumps all around). The drink itself fills the stomach (can slightly substitute as a temporary meal, say late lunch/dinner). Would still recommend you actually eat a meal. Not drink one. Overall, surprised to find out that a cake like drink can taste ... Good? Maybe it tasted even better and fulfilling cause I was starving. The colours are quite nice to look at (cloud painting-esque). The cup is the summer beach fun style.

Gave the Bubble Gaga a try, mostly cause i thought the name was clever (Lady has two syllables, just like bubble) and it was above and beyond my expectations.

Been going to Coco Fresh Tea & Juice for a while and it never disappoints. They’ve got a lot of options and you can adjust sugar and ice, so it’s easy to find your perfect combo. It can get busy sometimes but the drinks are worth the wait. If you’re craving bubble tea, this is definitely one of the safer picks 🙆‍♀️
